Coming to Redondo Beach, CA’s King Harbor Marina
October 9, 2010..departs O-Dock at 9 a.m. City2 the Sea's interactive, on-the-water Marine Science Learning Center
Kids & Fishing’s newest program, City2 the Sea is bringing the ocean to inner city classrooms and disadvantaged kids to the sea.

City2 the Sea is a new hands-on marine science program designed to open young minds to the opportunities that exist beyond the inner city and inspire careers in science and ecology.

Students will learn by conducting hands-on science experiments such as marine sample collection, macroscopic and microscopic species identification, anatomy and physiology studies of the collected samples, etc. While the kids are learning hands on science, they enjoy a fun day on the water aboard our 38' floating classroom.

For over 90% of our participants, it is their first time on the ocean in a boat. We are providing them with memories that last a lifetime and a connection to the ocean forever.

We are working with groups of at-risk children, ages 10-18 years old, from disadvantaged areas of the Greater Los Angeles Area. The participants of the QuikSCience program, our educational partner, do hundreds of presentations on Marine Pollution or similar topics to the students at their schools, other schools, and around the community.

For our Maiden Voyage on our newest donated vessel, Circe, we are proud to have 20 students from Animo Leadership Charter High School in Inglewood, Ca join us for our 1st official trip out to sea. These honor students are members of the Biology Club. They are very active in the community and have become wonderful stewards of the planet.

Come join us. Meet tomorrow’s leaders and stewards of the planet. We will be having a lunch after the trip, where you can meet these amazing kids in person or join us for a few hours of fun on the water prior to lunch.
